He has always loved to share things about rain with me. I fell in love with rain when I wrote It Smells Like Rain with Him some years ago for the last album. But it seems the pondering doesn’t leave. Many poems about rain seem to birth, yet all very different in heart and thought. I find He loves us to dwell on His goodness..His creation..His presence. As I laid down for bed last night I couldn’t get the word Downpour off my heart so I began to talk with Him about my desire for a downpour…my time with Him began a discussion about rain once again and it’s many varying forms..As I have been studying vineyards and seeing His application in our lives I am reminded vineyards need RAIN to grow…and so do we. May His rain come as a downpour..
Downpour
I’ve seen the rain drops that fall one by one
And showers so sweet can be caught by one’s tongue
Softened Spring scents as carried by winds
Rain that sweeps in to be gone once again.
Sheets fall and march as armies at war
Wave after wave drenching us more
But favorite is mine when Father does roar
Coming as rain a Mighty downpour.
