Resounding in my Spirit today

Are words of joy and delight

The Lord says He is pouring out

Double for every trial.

 

As Hannah mourned a deepened loss

The Lord was watching near

For what He planned for Hannah still

Was double for all her tears.

 

Elisha, he followed his mentor’s steps

Desiring God’s Spirit two-fold

So after his training from him was done

On Him double was bestowed.

 

For those who’ve known shame do rest in God’s grace

For He is good for His word

And one day you’ll rise to a sweet surprise

A double portion will, too, be yours.
