Do you hide yourself among the trees
and sneak a peek amidst the leaves?
For I do sense your playful stare
as the wind rushes through my hair.
Do you hide yourself within the clouds
to shield us from your glory’s power?
Do you smile amidst their shining glow
and laugh as you watch me in our grove?
Do you dance between the blooming flowers
and chase my heart every single hour?
Waiting a playful look from me
as I hear you say, “Come and see.”
Do you stop to speak with the singing birds
for I know they adore your every word.
And when I hear one singing loud
I often wonder if it makes you proud.
And in the moment you peek around
a big oak tree and make a sound
I can’t help, Lord, but laugh out loud
you only hide…so you can be found.
