That thing in your flesh driving you to take revenge into your own hands. That “hidden” part of your heart that is seething with such anger a smile can’t be had.
A boastful wrath that feeds the sinful behavior. You know, that story you like to tell because you feel you got it over on someone? That moment you felt you had to “say your piece” so you did.
They applauded. They agreed. You had some cheerleaders.
But Christ was severely grieved. It was a dishonorable display not becoming a child of God.
Let it be known that He will not allow such a destruction of a child of His without a serious intervention.
His love is too deep to overlook it. He wants something better for you.
Wholeness. Security. Contentment. Understanding of your own identity. Righteousness. Obedience. Godly character. Integrity. Pure love. Honesty.
When we become thieves and robbers in action or words, we’ve strayed from the heart of Jesus no matter how much we rationalize it.
Oh please, child of God, die to it quickly before it puts you, yourself, to an unassuming death.
And if you hang with those who applaud ungodly sin in your life rather than nudging you onward to holiness…
Well, frankly, you’re in the wrong circle.
