What is it that we dumb down the God in us? That we understand we have the power of God residing in us yet keep all our requests shallow and manageable?
We never dare the risk with Jesus and go for that which we see in the Word offered to us.
We might parallel our lives to the disciples and understand the human connection and behaviors, thus we are satisfied to be like them in this manner.
However, when we study to see those same disciples healing the sick, casting out demons, and setting captives free, we pass over the command to walk like them.
We’ve become a mouthpiece only, with no demonstration of the power of God.
I have been so guilty in my past until Jesus unraveled my theologies and safety nets. My scripture quoting means little with no action behind them.
Recently we had a gathering where the Lord pointed out a stronghold of the enemy in a life. We went into prayer until we were shown the root cause. Within moments, the captive was freed and the demonic influence evicted.
We most definitely are human, just like those same disciples. We error in the same unbelief, flail in the same types of sin and fail to also recognize the Christ in our midst. Intellect has never brought power, but faith does.
Don’t you want to become all that He desires? Don’t you want to witness His supernatural ways?
Perhaps it’s time to simply “do what they did” instead of just reading about it.
The same God who raised Christ from the dead lives in us.
May we start living like it.
