While in prayer the phrase came into my heart, “Casualties of War.”
The Lord was showing me the many unnecessarily lamed hearts after a bout of war.
Sometimes in our fighting for purpose and place we wound people. We even refrain from true repentance because we feel we had the right in our “following Jesus.” However, God was grieved in His own heart at the division of teams and allies He put together.
Even as God moves you into new realms and new journeys He has a beautiful plan in place to keep us honoring well without unnecessary casualties of war.
Eventually every season comes to an end and we will look back and wonder, “Was that really worth it?”
The answer will likely be a resounding, “No.” It could have been so different if love had led.
We thought we could lose some to gain more but it didn’t work out in the end. Everybody lost and now we are where we are.
Often we become more enamored with personal destiny than people and we choose one over the other when we could have had both.
God is keeping His eye on our ability to love well in war times. Where we do the hard work of protecting relationships.
We might very well be called to move into new places with new faces but do not dare forget the priceless people with whom you’ve warred. They are not replaceable.
Romans 12:10
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor…
