As God began to move mightily in the ministry soon after we opened our local building, I began to experience major attacks from the enemy.
Some of those attacks were physical. In one season while I tried to shut our back door with my shoulder I popped a rib out of place. I had to crawl to the couch so I wouldn’t pass out. I had to bow out of several commitments so I could recover.
After that was back in place I was so sore I had a hard time taking a deep breath.
Later came attacks of another kind but still the same source. Slander and gossip broke out about us and the Lord told me to remain silent for a season and just keep working.
So we did.
Soon came Covid and other illnesses while we were fighting for others’ lives in our prayer room weekly. It was where the devil tried to win with fear. It was personal and I knew I had to gain the victory in that area.
More attacks came but more personal in nature and I chuckled at being called a heretic because I am a woman in ministry.
Kind of a “Wow” moment at our petty ignorance.
But then I realized this….Bless the Lord that we’re becoming more One with Jesus every day and it’s an honor to enter into the fellowship of His own sufferings. I seemed to understand Him even better after that and He lit a good fire under me even more than before.
So…Listen.
If you’re gonna really follow Jesus, expect these kinds of things to happen.
Think not it strange, friends, when trials and tribulations come, as Paul said.
But do remember this:
The fruit always tells the truth.
And then…
Smile and carry on in Jesus name.
