I’ve watched many a ministry place a warm body in an empty position without prayer. Often we are trying to force God to do what we want rather than waiting and perceiving what God actually wants.
Are you assigned to the places and spaces you are occupying? If not, then vacate the premises.
God has a remedy for every area. Certain hearts are assigned to those areas. Certain dynamics, certain voices, and certain giftings. We weren’t made to fill every space.
To be assigned means I have the weight of Glory behind me in that position. If I’m not assigned, man, I’ve seen some train wrecks take place because no one wanted to hear what God wanted.
In some cases I’ve seen God give people over to their own desires and what an emptiness of the anointing was there. If they had just let go of their way and expectations, God would have been seen in their midst.
I’m still learning to ask, “Lord, am I assigned to this?”
For years, my own needs made my decisions. My need for approval. My need to please people. My need to feel accepted. Today, if God has not assigned me to it, I don’t want it. Someone else belongs there.
Do not hastily make decisions.
Pray.
Do not fill an empty space too quickly. Pray.
Do not let your own demands force God to give in to it. You’ll find no anointing there. It’ll become a noose around your neck.
Some of the most glorious assignments I’ve seen with my name assigned to them were the ones I did nothing to make happen. I didn’t even see them coming. They even looked completely different than anything I’d hoped for. They just organically unfolded before me like a gift that was being slowly unwrapped by Jesus.
I’ve found that His ways are not my ways. His thoughts are indeed higher. He works supernaturally to put me in position for that which has been assigned to me.
If there is anything today that your hands are on that was never assigned to you or perhaps that assignment has come to an end…..discern it well and move with Jesus.
When grace is gone for it, go…and go quickly.
When the anointing has pointed you into a position, stay at your post. For you have been assigned to it.
