There is a paramount need
That Christ does surely see
A many without a home
Who suffer life alone.
But centuries long ago
Deborah, a mother, arose
To tend the needy hearts
Of Israels little flock.
Where now are Mothers indeed
For today is a great great need
For the older women now to rise
And protect well the young in sight.
For Christ had set in place
Women with mercy and grace
To love the hurt and shamed
We have a motherless generation today.
A cry goes from the throne
Dare not silence Christ’s own
For they are sent to teach
The sons and daughters of Thee.
If spiritual mothers resist
For fear of persecuting men
Then many will lose their way
For mothers are needed today.
For in His image are made
The Sarah’s and Hannah’s that pray
Who share life’s painful ways
The sons too need spiritual mothers today.
Oh Fathers indeed are in need
Please do not misunderstand me
But the tenderness mothers portray Are needed for sons and daughters today.
Think back of Paul’s precious praise
For Timothy’s mother and grandmother’s ways
For raising him in Gods sweet grace
There’s Timothy’s without today.
Oh Mothers of Israel Arise!
The sons and daughters do cry!
In need of spiritual eyes
To walk with them thru life!
For they are the next sweet breed
Who Christ is raising indeed
Yet Satan has laid his plan
Of a motherless generation for man.
