It does not take long to see into the eyes of loneliness. It is masked by many things….but underneath is a deep need. I find that we do not do so well as being long suffering. We tend to provide many a band aid rather than long hours of listening, tender hugs of hope, and sacrificial emergency runs to those who hurt. This week God placed me before a widow still struggling with depression from loss. Somehow we think such a heart is healed after minimal months. We forget the tender unique hearts Christ has formed by hand. Some take a bit longer than others. Those who love deeply and wholeheartedly tend to be a bit slower in healing. Christ is so patient with us…shall we not in turn be patient with His own? I find a heartache within me to sit longer, listen more intently, and simply to “stay.” Stay as long as it takes to see Him make one whole is His loving desire. It’s simply His heart..that we would give ourselves away to the glory of His merciful name. I pray He will help us learn to “spend” ourselves to those He has appointed to our care.
A Lioness’ Love..
There’s so many Lord alone and lost
Yet wear a smiling face
But I can see beyond the veil
To many sad tear stains.
Grant me Lord a deeper love
To pour over their hearts.
Give me patience and mercy more
To love them quite alot.
Teach me, God, to hear you more
Better than I do now
For these sweet ones they need a Word
From Heaven’s healing power.
Lace my tongue with gentle care
Careful not to wound
For broken hearts can easily
Become broken spirits too.
Guide my eyes to see inside
That which hides its shape
Give me all I need in time
To speak a word of grace.
Use my words to lift them up
Give me a lioness’ love
Teach me how to fiercely care
As a mama would her cubs.
May we love with a passionate persistence and a fierceness that cannot be tamed. For He is jealous for His people. May we not stop short because of duties..God’s ways are not our ways. …for they are our responsibility according to His Word. We must become a people who love fully and willing to surrender all for even one…it will cost us everything…just as it did Christ.
Love Much,
Shelly
