- a thing on which someone or something depends or which provides a means of escape from a difficult situation.
- a rope or line used for life-saving, typically one thrown to rescue someone in difficulties in water or one used by sailors to secure themselves to a boat.
Sometimes serving God’s people is by simply being a trusted lifeline.
At any given moment a crisis can occur, and we must be ready and willing to come to the aid of a heart in need.
It’s super important that your time is owned by Christ just as much as your finances and material things. I might comb the deep recesses of my heart and ask whether God is able to use what He has entrusted/loaned to me.
I find we are most selfish with our time.
We love to force God to use us on a worldly timetable. “I’m available 9-5 God.” Thus, we see we have not really given ourselves to Him in full surrender.
Some of us want Kingdom operation and assignments with worldly ways and methods. It’ll never work. You’re going to need to separate yourself from the ways of the world if you really want to be used by God.
Remember, while all that is His is yours in Christ Jesus, all that is yours… is intimately His. Are you letting Him have it?
Either we will serve people or we will continually serve ourselves.
In order to be a lifeline, you’ll have to give your life completely over to Christ. There were times in the Bible when the disciples were tired and Jesus had not even eaten. He was busy doing what He saw the Father do. There was always a cost and expected sacrifice when one was called by God.
Let me ask you, today. Are you a reliable lifeline for Jesus and His people? Are you available for His use whenever and wherever?
Something to ponder…
