Your Time…

It is so easy to look around and see others progressing in their callings and become anxious as to what perhaps you could be doing wrong. Many feel like failures simply because we do not understand God’s ways. We all walk unique paths, what is good for one is not necessarily God’s way for another. Yet, Christ has appointed seasons and times for each unique calling. My time is not your time..and your time is not exactly my time. Also, in the scheme of God’s plans some are appointed teachers, prophets, pastors, etc…Each equipped for a certain assignment, in a certain way, at a certain time. All of these things are critical to the believers walk with Christ and the timing of our showing forth. Joseph was on a detour that seemed to never end. Surely it could not be God’s plan for his life? Yet…it was. For almost 20 years God prepared him to become 2nd in charge and to save an entire people in famine. For years John the Baptist was hidden in obscurity with Christ alone before the fulfillment of his calling which was quite a short time indeed. 3 years of banishment was required for the writing of Revelation. Clearly, His ways are not our ways.  Each judge in the Old Testament was raised up specifically to deliver Israel from it’s ways of idolatry and wickedness. When the cries of God’s people were lifted up to the Lord, He raised up judges..Deborah and the others.. as a means of deliverance. Their jobs were to judge righteously and lead the people into war… and ultimately into a time of peace. Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 reminds us “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…’ As humans we will always struggle with timing. We prefer our time…instead of His time….but in order for it to be “Your Time“….you will have to wait on His time🙂

 “Your Time”

Christ has His times and seasons 

Whereby all things come and go

Where providence encounters divine destiny 

Catapulting you on a named road.

“Your time ” is sure and readied 

But this time is not my own.

For “your time” is simply “your time”

No other time is yours you know…

“Their time” is not for your grasping

Their road is not for your feet

Neither is wrong in direction

But “your time” is very unique.

Discouragement will follow you closely

If measure “your time” by theirs

So rest now under His wings child 

For “your time” is waiting His stare.

If hope deferred makes the heart sick

Then expect nothing human to come

For Christ appears in utter foolishness

Confounding the wise ole’ tongues.

No clock can predict when it’s “your time”

Yet His fruit is prepared in advance

And waiting “your time” of appointment

May tarry with unseen advance.

Patience is giving you strength now

And the buds on the vines soon shall grow

So wait in His Holy presence

Until “your time” is called to “now go.”
