Tonight, I just feel an overwhelming heart for those who haven’t quite gotten over certain seasons of pain.
No matter what right steps you’ve taken towards healing, the grief still rests deep within you.
I want you to know that it’s ok.
You’re not strange, weak, or doing anything wrong.
Grief, I’ve learned, comes and goes and just like many of you, I’m not quite over some of my painful seasons either.
Yet when you consider how far you’ve come, you’ll remember that the days of overwhelming tears have lessened.
The days you wondered whether you’d ever get out of bed again are now behind you.
You really have been healing with Jesus.
Your smiles are more regular, and you eventually were able to enjoy some parts of life again. Albeit it was a slow go, I do understand.
Some things I know you still can’t do and some places you still can’t go…and that’s ok too.
Healing is a process full of beauty in the midst of despair.
It’s a place where Jesus shows Himself to you freshly and tenderly. You’ve learned how near He really does come, and you feel hopeful that there is a life still to be lived…and it can be good despite the rain.
If you’ll look closely you’ll see that you’ve learned to trust Him more.
My heart aches with you tonight, so I know that Jesus in me is keeping you forever on His mind.
He has not forgotten you.
