There is an often quiet “thing” that gives us a glimpse of God at work.
The wind is invisible, yet we know it’s there. So if I have any who believe there is no God graciously reading this post, ponder that statement awhile.
Just because you can’t see the wind, doesn’t mean it’s not there. Likewise, just because you can’t see God doesn’t mean He is not there.
Evidence is offered in the swaying of the trees, the blowing of the leaves, the shuffling of one’s hair during an afternoon walk.
I can have a heart wondering, “Where is God?” and point to the loveliness of the wind.
The evidence of the wind is not so much in the sight of it, but the effects of it as it moves those things around it.
Without the wind, the boat doesn’t sail, and the eagle isn’t able to mount up.
With one gust of wind, locusts were sent to Egypt and with one gust of wind, they were removed from Egypt.
It’s certainly another reason we ought to lose the phrase, “Mother Nature.” There is no just thing. Give God Almighty His due, please.
At times the rain is sent farther by the wind into directions specific to its going so that seeds might be sprayed with Heaven’s weighty might.
The wind can also be blistering in some seasons as God is growing strong root systems.
The wind… Used by God for many things, but the wind utterly understands the Master’s authority at all times.
Jesus even rebuked the wind when it rose on the waters, and it quickly obeyed.
The wind is one of many pieces of evidence of a living God who is always active.
Ps 135:7 – He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightning for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.
The wind is always at the command of its Master, Adonai.
Even when it appears the wind has stilled, you can look up to the treetops and catch the tiniest of movement still at work.
It’s worthy of pondering, isn’t it, that one must look higher to see the wind, yet still, at work?
If you’ve wondered where is God? Walk outside. Take a deep breath and feel Him pass by when the wind blows.
It is a life in the Spirit that can sense the nearness of God as He sends His wind for an intimate kiss of love to any longing heart who might need it.
Perhaps, this longing heart is you, today?
Please take a step outside, dear friend.
Look up…to the tallest of treetops.
There you’ll see evidence of God, still, at work.
