Isn’t it hard to move to new places with the Lord sometimes? The heart is so deeply entangled with things of this world. Yet something inside of us stirs until we feel the heaviness of our “staying”…when we have “out stayed” our purpose…why is it so hard to move when Christ calls? I guess it could be unbelief…lack of trust..fear of a new land..and even a lack of full surrender.. i think too we think our staying will be for many years rather than a simple ” layover” The disciples held all loosely..when the Word of the Lord came…”they followed the call and obeyed the command..” there can be negative effects when we choose to “stay too long..”
When you stay too long
The heart gets sick
Hope is fleeting and sorrow thick
Confusion sets in and halts your feet
Heaviness renders you now weak.
When you stay too long
When Christ He calls
Urging you to come belong
Showing you your use and need
When you stay too long it’s hard to leave.
Align thyself with Christ and move
Where His plan is good for you
Where all your gifts and talents bless
Those who are waiting HIS PRECIOUS BREATH.
O shall we cling so tightly though
Knuckles white from gripping strong
Fearful of ever being wrong
So we choose to simply stay too long.
