I have been waiting on the Lord to show me this… such anticipation in my heart when I heard “When the Petals Fall..”
It was such an alluring word to ponder. I sat and imagined a petal slowly drop to the ground… as if it was just floating. I had to go online to search a bit as to why petals fall from flowers… and He was faithful to give me His heart when I just decided to get in my closet and begin writing..Never am I sure where He is going to go with His heart… only line by line does it unfold. Truly this word is beautiful yet urgent to us sharing Him with the world..Many wait for His love.
When petals fall is it lack of rain
Stinging storms or lightening pain
Or simply need of making room
For dreams that come as baby blooms?
It seems they fall in motion slow
As the wind slowly blows
Wisps of air cup thy buds
Softly softly falls the flood.
Suspended in thy breeze so soft
Petals release with soothing calm
Is it that falling signifies
A finished job or vision died?
What if each petal is a life
Waiting for a drink… so dry
Yet rain it never touches close
So colors fade and stunts thy growth..
Once so brilliant..beauty arrayed
Now so weak and edges frayed
Needing breath from Heaven’s home
Yet fields are now but left alone.
Once the flowers were tended well
But now with tears the petals melt
Waiting waiting Christ’s love to rain
When the petals fall…we’re much too late.
