For some, God has been waiting for you to move forward with Him. His open doors were given, yet you left Him “holding the bag.”
He has been testing our faithfulness, church. How do we steward what has been entrusted to us? Have we multiplied or merely buried the talents, if you will. I fear many have played it safe.
For some, it has been the fear of commitment and for others, it is simply a lack of faithfulness. Yet, we’ve offered a million and one excuses for it.
Many have prayed for open doors, but when God answered that prayer, you simply didn’t take it.
It was more work than you bargained for, and it required more of you than you were willing to give.
We often have our boundaries for God, don’t we? He can have “this,” but not “that.”
It exposes a heart issue. A lack of passion for the work of God, which in turn shows a lack of passion for Him. Also, a lack of faithfulness to the small things that lead to big things, and a lack of full surrender to the King and Kingdom.
He has yet to become the Lord of ALL.
“If we are faithful with a few things,” remember?
We often pray desperately for the blessings of God, but we do not want it to disrupt our own lives and personal desires. We don’t want to have to give ourselves to it fully, only when it’s convenient. In this, we have committed to Him only our leftovers.
Our leftover time, our leftover resources, and our leftover commitment.
All other things usurp God’s heart and His work. He is not given priority, and thus we have abandoned the call of God.
We can try to rationalize that this is not a significant breach, but listen, it is disobedience at the core.
What makes me sad, today, as I’ve sat with Him, is that I feel He has now closed the door because it has delayed His work, and my heart desires for reaching people in this hour.
He is now moving on.
For some of us, we think God will “hold our place.”
Listen, He won’t. His plan must be fulfilled. Obedience is our responsibility. He does not have to keep holding the door open for us. The calling is, yes, irrevocable, but His anointing and favor can be withdrawn when we lack commitment and obedience.
A question or two arise in my heart for us this morning.
First, where is your passion for the Kingdom work or are you taken with this natural life? Second, have you abandoned the call of God?
These are questions I would ask and answer honestly before the Lord.
Because on this day… I feel He has now closed the once open door.
May we repent of our inaction and seek His heart for new and next steps to reconcile us back to Him.
