I’ve seen many angry at the road they now walk. I’ve also seen many blame others for consequences God is using to attempt to change them. I’ve certainly been there as well.
Until repentance comes, He will not move you forward. He does not overlook sin. He cannot overlook sin. It is not in His nature or at all who He is.
Often, we somehow think slandering others, misusing scripture to justify our actions, and ignoring our own sin is going to go excused by the righteous judge.
It will not.
It is a fearful place to be if others have cautioned you and gently nudged you back into the light, but you reject the truth again and again that God brings to you.
Platforms will cease eventually and doors will have to close. Good and godly relationships will go by the wayside when you compromise. All because we knowingly refuse to bend a knee before a holy God.
Nathan had to comfort King David as his hidden sin wreaked havoc on other innocent lives. Thankfully, David repented, but there were major consequences for his actions. No one else was to blame but him. He simply wanted what he wanted, so he did whatever it took to get it no matter who was harmed.
In a season of deep despair in my own life, God revealed to me, I had mishandled some hearts in my past. I knew right then that my getting out of the valley depended on my obedience to apologize with no excuses and to do my best to make things right. Some of these instances were many years prior, but it made no difference to Jesus. He had not forgotten.
It is the heart that turns their own consequences into a blame game for others. It is a prideful and unusable heart that will not repent before God and others.
Repentance is necessary to come to Christ and to maintain a heart like His. Repentance opens doors to destiny and expands ministries. It restores broken relationships and cleanses our own hearts.
Repentance is good.
Until repentance comes
The crooked path remains.
Until repentance comes
Will be a mount of shame.
Until repentance comes
You will not be free.
Until repentance comes
You’ve halted destiny.
Leave your gift on the altar today, friends and go make some things right…
Matthew 5:24
..leave your gift there before the altar and go. First, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
