True love not only applauds each other as we walk this walk with Jesus, but it is also honest with each other.
We don’t allow each other to play with sin and remain silent. We don’t make excuses for sinful behaviors and call that love. It actually is the opposite of biblical love.
Many get offended as you begin to shine a light on things that are wrong. Paul is a great example of courage, biblical love, and the fight for the truth. I wonder if we would just call things what they are at times instead of sweeping it under the proverbial rug if we would see more transformation of the heart.
If I have Christ-like love, I will not allow sheep to be snatched by wolves. I will also not keep hidden a “Christian” who preys on others to manipulate and steal from them. Usury is not a good character trait. Nor is it of God. Deception has one source. The devil.
Paul is also quick to let his church know of those who have caused much harm to the body of Christ. Ought we not follow suit?
There was an experience I had where I saw a beautiful gift in one who didn’t have what she needed to make her dream come to life. I got involved and then enlisted others to help.
Soon there were requests and behaviors that gave me a check in my spirit. Something of deception was at work, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
I resisted the nudge and ultimately chose to dismiss it. Soon I found out there was a pattern of deception and those I involved were now falling prey to it as well. I had handled them over in a way to a web of the enemy. We all had suspicions of a problem, but no one wanted to say anything, thinking it was the wrong thing to do. We were all trying to be “nice.” Don’t you think the devil was on to that one?!?!
However, it would have saved some people a lot of money and heartache if this had been exposed early on.
When it was finally exposed I never heard the words, “I’m sorry” but I did hear many excuses. This person was in a devilish delusion using the name of Jesus. Not good.
Today, I take seriously guarding my brothers and sisters. When I’ve seen a pattern of deception with no repentance after many attempts to lovingly bring people back to the truth…I, then, have a decision to make.
I have two choices:
Side with Christ and godliness, or side with the devil and deception.
Sometimes one looks similar to the other but if you know the real truth and heart of Christ you’ll be bold like a Lion and guard others from getting hurt.
It is a part of what it means to have true and biblical love.
The other “love” is an absolute counterfeit.
