I have found the one my soul loveth.
Still-He captures my heart. He takes my breath away as His wind blows and I inhale deeply as He passes by.
Sometimes He twirls me around and around to make me grin and I belly laugh at how His Majesty can reach down to a little girl He loves.
His delight is in me and He longs to give me the desires of my heart.
We talk for hours. He listens as I pour out every lack and He assures me there is no broken piece He can not mend. He restoreth my soul.
I remind Him of things the devil stole in a past season and He nudges me to “wait.” He gives me a nod of justice as He tells me He will recover all my stolen property just like He did for King David.
Some days I burst into tears just because of His goodness as I say, “Do you remember Lord the first time I sang in public? I was so terrified!” He sighs and says, “Yes, we have come a long, long way daughter.”
Every little girl fairytale has no measure next to this one. Mere imagination are the lovely castles and crowns. Or are they? The princess looking for the prince. An ordinary girl longing for her extraordinary dreams to come true. The Once Upon A Time that stirs every heart across every culture. This one thing we may all actually have in common…
Perhaps before time began the inner longing of humankind sewn into each heart would spill over onto countless movie screens. Unbeknownst to every empty heart would be an innate drawing of a Savior in the tale that was written before all other tales.
You see, eternity was written in every human heart by a God wanting to be found. The princess will always long for the prince. It was meant to be so from the very beginning.
Through Christ Jesus, the Prince of Peace, the fairytale no longer resides as mere imagination but becomes the very story of a God who left Heaven and all its riches, clothed Himself in human flesh, bore the sin of mankind, and died to offer us a precious gift of eternal salvation.
Of all the tales written….never has there been one such as this. This is the tale that leads to a Heavenly mansion, golden streets, and pearly gates that are as real as real can get.
Christ offers, today, every little girl (boys too)royal status and all that comes with it. Her inheritance includes a royal robe, His very signet ring of authority, unlimited provision to fulfill her assignments, and she will be known once and for all as a royal priest. Part of a priesthood marked by the King…as His. She will become His vessel for Kingdom use.
She will be sent to tell the tale over every countryside, through every deep valley, and she will navigate the highest of cliffs. She will comb the meadows for His lost sheep learning to bind their wounds and bring them to the very King she has come to cherish.
Funny isn’t it. We spend our lives dreaming when we could be simply receiving…
P.S. Those who endure to the end shall receive a crown after all…
(James 1:12)
