Isa 59:5 – They hatch deadly snakes and weave spiders‘ webs. Whoever falls into their webs will die, and there’s danger even in getting near them.
I want to talk to you about discernment.
Very often over my years, I got snared in what I call a bait and switch. It’s where the enemy would come in seemingly kind with gifts and “support” that truly ended up in a concerted and well-constructed spider’s web.
Once I realized what was happening, it was very difficult to remove myself from it. Webs can be strong and powerful at holding their prey.
They’re also a kind of wolf in sheeps’ clothing. They often come into your presence with flattering lips. However, their intent is to get close to you, draw on your resources and influence, and use it for their own gain. Eventually, they will turn on you when they do not get what they are after.
I’ve learned to pray through things and not to jump too quickly into scenarios and to pay very close attention to behaviors, subtle deceptions, and slightly hidden character issues.
Be sure that if the enemy can’t take you down externally, he will attempt a breach of boundaries. This will be one of your first signs that impure motives are at work.
In my experience as well, the demonic spirit involved in such scenarios has zero problem walking right into your door while you are ministering. It’s nothing more than an intimidation game.
News flash: Jesus isn’t intimidated.
These “types” will refuse your boundaries and get angry when you call them out on it, while always blaming others for their own consequences.
Very quickly the flattering lips become chattering lips, and you’ll find them going behind your back to many trying to cause divisions.
This is the aim of the spirit. The wolf picks people off one at a time and tries to cause unholy alignments.
My mercy heart use to allow it because I naturally see the best in others, not now I’ve learned it is an enabling of sin.
Today, I will escort those out of the ministry to guard others. I am called to protect the flock and I fully intend on doing so.
Be careful friends. Not everyone coming to help you is for you. The devil sends many to do his work. Be careful who you align with. Make sure there is not a web being spun to keep you from your destiny assignments.
Don’t fall for the bait and switch. It’s not being unkind putting the wolves out, it’s actually being biblically wise. Paul would do the same thing….and did.
