The call of God will interrupt many a plan. It is often difficult to decide to follow Jesus and the path He is waving you down.
The world and perhaps those around you never saw what Christ had placed in you and He is entirely unwilling to let it lie dormant…so the pursuit begins.
Chasing you at every turn is a jealous God calling out the YOU He created and formed in the womb. Knowing every distinct personality trait and quality, He sees whether or not you are blooming fully in the way He designed.
He has a plan you are to play a part in so it is not an option to take a road less traveled.
Nope. The Good Shepherd will take His rod and staff to nudge you onward- relentlessly.
He will even sit you down for a talk about whether you’re able to hear Him call you by the name He appointed to you or whether you will allow mankind to put a counterfeit name on you.
Seasons come and seasons GROW…growing us into more than before as He takes us from Abram to Abraham or Sarai to Sarah.
Moving into destiny with Christ is the purpose you, and I, were created for. To walk with Him intimately and know Him well. To heed His voice and obey His commands. To have the courage to do the impossible and hold His hand as He leads us from assignment to assignment.
His pursuit might find you in a cave like Elijah after a harrowing moment of defeating 400 prophets of Baal knowing you are now on the MOST WANTED poster of a hunting Jezebel.
But at other times you’ll find yourself reclining beside a green pasture as He feeds you tenderly His heart in secret and beautiful ways.
Either way, the pursuit is like a dance. There are many steps to the beat of His melody and twirls that are exhilarating and breathtaking. There are moments of underlying fears that must be put to death so you might glide across Heaven’s dance floor. Often, He may change the dance step up on you a bit to help you grow even more in what is most unfamiliar to you. He is building your trust in Him.
But one thing is for sure. If you get still enough or listen intently in the night hours, you may just hear the forever reigning King of Glory lean in to sing you a song of faith. A little lullaby letting you know that even as your eyes are closed He is still in pursuit of your heart.
