As I exit my car onto my walking path, I bless the Lord for such a beautiful day. I can smell the fresh scent of the tall pines as I catch a glimpse of a small tumbleweed being blown quickly by the wind.
“This might be the most perfect kind of day, Lord.”
The sun is offering warmth while tag teaming the wind with just the right amount of cooling breeze.
A butterfly lands gently on my arm and I marvel at the joy of the Lord. His delight is ever-present today and I stop to gaze about me so not to miss one single thing.
There seems to be a weight to the wind today, and I’m certain He is about to reveal to me a matter of His heart.
I look down to find a perfectly planted heart-shaped leaf…yet it is crisp and dry. A few feet later I see one which has a small portion still soft and alive while the remaining portion is already crisp and dry…lifeless.
It seems to be a picture of His people. Some are in a spiritual death, while others are well on their way.
“We need you to revive us, oh Lord.”
His heart is for life to dwell richly in every heart….and it’s not just any ole’ life, but abundant life.
Abundant in love.
Abundant in grace.
Abundant in forgiveness.
Abundant in faith.
Abundant in hope.
Abundant in truth.
Abundant in Spirit.
Abundant in joy.
Abundant in purpose.
Abundant in passion.
So many have lost hope, lost faith, and are numb.
Yet the Lord is fully able to resurrect every heart and lifeless life.
One breath from Christ changes everything. One moment of His touch transforms. One moment of His love washes you clean.
The fresh air I pray is a sign of life beginning in many.
New life.
New names.
New do-overs.
New joy.
Renewed faith.
It would then, most definitely, be the perfect day for many.
