But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matthew 6:6
God desires to whisper His mysteries to a listening heart. There is a precious place where whispering happens between a praying saint and his, or her, God. Whereby Christ comes low to the heaving breath of man and imparts a Heavenly message being prepared for a coming release. The prayer closet seems quiet until you’ve been shown a glimpse of Heavens activities. There is quite much work being taken care of that the human eye cannot see.
Aloneness will mark the man or woman after Gods own heart. Crowds must come and go but the pursuit of Christ requires one to master being alone.
While the world scurries around in the hustle and bustle, there is a sweet communion of fire and oil in the secret place with one given over to Jesus.
The sky might yet open up to an angelic host in full chorus right before the eyes of the lonely saint seeking God’s company.
There is never such a thing as “too much” time with God but there is quite too much, today, of “too little.”
How does one become more like Christ without studying His heart and mind by His word and by His Spirit? Watching quietly His heart working around us is the way of the Master and His Servant. One must closely monitor and mimic His ways as part of the training routine.
A million distractions come a knocking at the door of the prayer closet, but only the courageous will demand silence until the meeting with the King has been adjourned. There can be no other more important and if it is so, all things fall quickly out of good balance.
If ever there has been a clear Heaven coming down it can be found as the door shuts and one enters into the Kings private chambers. For His heart leaps at the coming of one of His children for counsel. He loves to be sought after and is quite faithful to open up His heart more and more to the one who pleads for it.
Have you darkened the door of His secret place today? It is there that He offers your daily instructions. What you might surely miss if one day is left abandoned with Him.
