I see a vast gap between what we know and what we do. It is a marvelous thing to know the scriptures. Yet, it means nothing if we have yet applied them to our lives.
If I bear witness vocally of a relationship with Christ, there ought to be a bearing witness of like actions that back up my claims.
This is not a works theology but a living testimony that Christ now resides in us. We will begin to show more and more of His image in us. There are no more excuses that sound like this: “You know me. That’s just how I am.” For it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me.”
There must be a putting away of the old man at some point to show the death of self and the life of Jesus. It is a long walk to the cross I admit.
My words will no longer be laced with profanity or obscenities but laced with that which builds people up in Jesus. I should offer a glimpse at least of gentleness, kindness, joy, love, patience, and self-control. Mastery is not required… but practice is.
Malice must be dealt with at the altar with an honest heart. Mercy will replace it. A lying tongue will be put to death and truth will replace it. Bigotry and racism will have no more a home while the impartiality of Christ moves in.
The Word is like a magnifying glass showing little cracks in our hearts. Tears bleed from my eyes as The Holy Spirit touches a place not bearing His image.
Conviction is painful at times but once repentance is real to me, and to Him, healing comes. This is true freedom.
Many profess Christ with no evidence whatsoever of a life lived with Him. Yes, growing is a process. But once truly born again, things will change.
“Oh Lord create a clean heart in me” will be the prayer of a heart longing to be fully given over to Christ and His Spirit.
Daily things will be nailed to the cross in exchange for His life and love for all of humanity.
The time loaned to me will be used for Kingdom work and all else will become secondary. We were placed here by The Creator to bring Him glory and point people to Him. Every woman, every man, and every child meant to be enlisted soldiers in the army of God.
There will be a realization and unction of the Holy Ghost to spend time feeding on the Word and travailing in prayer. For Jesus waits our daily arrival at His feet. It is the best thing and the first thing.
This is The Way of Jesus…. and there are no short cuts…
