The Dance
Inspiration: A true story of praise after the Lord graciously eased a burden of illness (Fibromyalgia) and set me free to dance again. After 5 years of undiagnosed illness and at least a 1 year bout of extreme fatigue and pain, the Lord blessed me with a Word from a precious prayer partner that led to much healing by the Lord. Shortly after, I sneaked off to my church sanctuary to have some special time with my Healer. I did not realize he would document our intimate time together with the first of many songs He would begin to pour out over me. The Lord is the Lord who heals me…Jehovah Rapha…and never again will I take for granted the ability to dance before Him or with Him.
Lyrics
(as they first came at 4:30am in 2008)
I ran out the door, jumped in my car and headed to my favorite place; as I stepped into the sanctuary, a smile came upon my face.
Thankful for the quiet and emptiness, there was no one else in our room; And as the music started, I slowly slipped off my shoes.
I want to make much of you Jesus he sang, and a lump rose in my throat; for all the times you rescued me–I dance before your throne.
Praise you Jesus for your gentleness and for healing this body of mine; so as a demonstration of my thanks, I dance with my hands held high.
I laughed out loud and glanced about, hoping no one would see; could they ever understand all the love that is between you and me.
Crazy talks and endless walks with glory beyond control; hand in hand with this ordinary girl just because you love me so.
With twirls and spins I lose myself in the wonder of your presence; and as the music stopped I gazed up front to the altar with reverence.
I bowed to my knees and lifted my head and closed both of my eyes; and pictured you hanging upon that cross, bruised and stripped of pride.
I cried when your eyes met mine— and as your blood slowly poured; and I felt at once you cover my sins so I could dance some more…………….
