In prayer this morning, the Lord showed me a woman walking in a field of lilies. She was touching gently each one with her right hand as she walked along. There was much sunshine and a gentle breeze.
The heart of the Lord for her was so beautiful. He was completely enjoying her company. He was walking with her. Beside her. Behind her. He surrounded her.
He was watching over her shoulder to enjoy her gazing at those lilies. He had a longing in His heart to see her happy.
It was as if He had designed this place just for her. A place and field that was for her sheer delight.
At this moment, He was keeping her all to Himself for a time. It was beautiful and tender jealousy for her heart to be deeply connected to His.
I wondered to myself if this is what it looks like to Him in our moments of isolation. A heavenly “coming away” with Christ. The lover of our souls.
Suddenly the woman picked up the sides of her sundress and began to run into a meadow. She was chasing Him with laughter and joy.
She took off her wide-brimmed sun hat as she twirled around and around dancing under the warm sunlight.
It felt like freedom. I began to weep.
She tossed her hat up into the open air and I could sense His smile over her.
His presence was endearing. Gentle. Kind. Pure. I could even feel His eyes dancing as He watched her. His heart was so full of love for her.
The isolation was never a punishment.
It was a courtship.
The kind offered by a royal King to His precious Queen.
He was lavishly showing her how much He adored her.
They sat down upon a red and white checkered picnic blanket. Out of a sweet little basket, He had prepared for her some food. They enjoyed one another’s company and talked for hours.
The last thing I saw was her glancing up at the beauty of the sky. I could tell she felt peace and fully satisfied.
May you know, today, His delight is in you…
