We have been deceived into a stand still. When an issue arises that one must fight for biblical justice, we choose to refrain arguing it is for the best.
So we teach our children how to back down from fighting against Babylon encroaching our borders.
Wrapped in Christian talk is the fear that if we fight against the enemy’s tactics, others will have an open door to our children and land, so we sit back and stand down. Do we not serve the only living God?
Where are the saints willing to fight the hard and long fights?
Silence has plagued our church body and we seem to love to take the easy route. We think it’s wise and even rationalize it with scripture….thus the enemy takes the land.
He knows we hate confrontation and have been for centuries deceived into thinking the good little Christian is a “peacemaker.”
So we have inadvertently made many a peace treaty with the devil.
We have buried the legacy of Deborah, Esther, Elijah, David, Paul, and others who lived a life confronting evil.
We have turned meekness into weakness and twisted the mere definition of “power restrained.”
Our lack of engagement ushered prayers out of schools, shut down activities for Christ, and made a clear path for the onslaught of the enemy.
We have become a silent witness.
Our preaching has weakened because it is tongue in cheek. We dare not stand tall against the oncoming darkness yet we preach against it….and we wonder why we have a confused generation?
At some point our preaching must be active and the word we offer our people should be seen-not just heard.
Where are the warriors? The David’s prepared to slay the Goliaths in the land?
Where is the army of Christ?
If we stand down now there will be a takeover. Count on it.
Will we fight for the oppressed? Set the captives free? Push back the darkness with light?
Or will we sit back and watch the name of the Lord be removed from our society?
Prepare for battle. Prepare for war.
Make sure your anchored well in Christ Jesus…
And understand fully you and I are entering a time-when just like Paul….our faith will be tested…
Perhaps behind some unforeseen prison bars.
Discern the times… and may we not settle for being a church that doesn’t fight.
