Sometimes walking through pain takes lots of little baby steps. We are not always able to handle it all at once.
It might feel like you’ve taken 3 steps forward and then a trigger comes. 10 steps back. However, it’s still progress.
Jesus is careful with our hearts and has a precise timing to our healing. For some it’s spontaneous and for others it’s a seeing dimly for a time until we are able to process fully the pain embedded in our hearts. Trauma can be hairy and patience is necessary. Jesus is long-suffering and takes all the time He needs to ensure your healing is complete.
The biggest step, honestly, is the first one. The honest evaluation of a very real need. Christ loves to see us bring our needs to Him. It is part of that relational intimacy between us and the LORD.
We are safe in His arms and as the layers are peeled away He gently wipes tears and binds that unique wound before moving onto the next.
He is there to help you take another breath. In the moments when it all comes in like a flood, He is there to hold you as the waters rage.
Don’t give up on your healing. Let Him unravel it all piece by piece.
There are, at times, things you’ll have trouble doing again for a while because it brings a memory that is painful.
Push through that fear with Jesus when He nudges. It’s ok to feel all the raw emotion. It’s actually healthier than pretending it’s not there.
The Light of His Glory is able to shine into that dark place as it is exposed.
One thing I know: Christ is a tender shepherd, and you are completely, and fully, loved by Him. His heart is set on you and your wholeness in Him.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face…
You have a cheering section in Heaven rooting you on toward all that Christ has planned for you.
You, with His help, will make it.
