There is a world unseen. We talk about it, we read in the Word about it, yet we live as if it does not exist. We have been taught of Satan and his fall from heaven taking 1/3 of the angelic host with him. We are told this in Ephesians 6:
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Also in 1 Peter 5:8:
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour.”
Far too often we pay little attention to the workings of Satan and his flock. Have you considered he may be at work in your life and the life of your family, or do you simply dismiss the war Christ tells us to beware of? I have met many people who seem to believe in Christ yet believe not in the enemy of their souls, Satan. This is problematic..for in this alone is defeat. A warrior never goes into battle without knowing their enemy. A general studies the adversary in detail, prepares his army for battle, and everyone takes their position. When out of position there is a vulnerability. The general also is always fully aware of the enemy’s position as well.
Likewise, you and I must remember our position in Christ. We are co-heirs with Christ. Satan has no power or authority over an authentic believer. There is nothing more pleasing to God than to remind Him of His promises and by faith stand on them. When the enemy wreaks havoc in our lives we have been given authority and power over him and his efforts. Yet, let’s remember that often times we open a door wide for the enemy to enter into our space. This is why we must be cautious of television shows, music, books, video games, and other media that constantly feed our hearts and minds. If they do not honor the Lord then we must leave them be. For He tells us how to live in a way that is a beautiful protection from a loving Father. While Christ does allow struggle and tribulation as we read in the Word, far too often we passively allow Satan to gain ground rather than reminding him of our position of authority through the blood of Christ. It’s as if we have taken most of what Christ afforded us on the Cross while leaving a portion left still to be taken. May we receive ALL His blood spilled for.
Remember Your Position
Tis not thy mountain that maketh strong
But valleys deep, wide, and long
Where prayer is more than seconds heard
For it is where travail is learned.
Birthed is patience that sometimes waits
Yet learned wrong patience passivity makes
For holding Christ to promised WORD
Counts as faith and His heart is stirred.
When head is bowed and knees still frail
Buckled beneath thy strength, still pale.
Heaven watches with bated breath
To see if we will stand from rest.
His eyes they drift to sword in sheath
“Come my dear,” says Commander in Chief.
Leave it not in weakness hold.
Grab it! Stand! The trumpet blows!
Remember thy position! A beggar not!
But one of royal inheritance! Bought!
Thy land is ready for you to take
The enemy stands before its gates.
Satan he waits to see thine eyes
To see if you’ve believed his lies.
Betting you will but shrink back.
Forgetting thy valley grew strength in lack.
One step, two step, closer yet
Each step stronger as Christ has said
Faith has moved on up ahead
Fear no longer rests its head.
Thru giants tossed in valley wars
Wisdom gained through trials, thru storms
Knowledge found in waters deep
As Christ prepared a work for thee.
Almost there, it’s getting close!
Do not be moved from thy post.
The secret found is knowing thy place
And commanding Satan to his disgrace.
For thru The Christ afforded thee
Is righteousness and royalty
Position as a rightful heir
One with an authoritative stare.
Shall we forfeit that which He gave?
For blood He shed our debts He paid?
NO! Satan has NO power! NO place!
But under thy feet in Jesus name.
