There is a holding tight to one’s doctrine without actually living by it. When given the chance to be the hands and feet of Jesus, we are too busy in our “study” of it.
Many blessings sent by God we will lose when we are disconnected from the line by line doctrine versus the heart and nature of God.
This causes the body of Christ to shift from the Good Samaritan to the religious man who walked by the wounded in the street with little, to no, concern at all… Rarely, will it grieve our own hearts until it knocks on our own doorstep and we find ourselves lying in the street watching the passers-by.
Over and over Jesus warns us of such a state whereby we run to worship with our lips while our hearts are far from Him. With lifted hands, we profess His name while He sits at the back of the room weeping over the hypocrisy of it all. Where we are proud of our Daniel fast while the hurting go uncared for.
Religion is such a deceiver that is able to exalt a piety that is putrid to the nostrils of God but offers a feel-good heart to many. Holiness encompasses His heart cry when religion wears a cloak that covers deception, even to one’s own heart. It is still an outward appearance.
Religion worries more about “who” gives Jesus to a man rather than the joy that He was given, period. Religion tells you “how” when Christ just says, “Go.”
Look at most worldwide religions and you’ll see the oppression of certain people groups by race, nationality, or gender. The service to a false “god” who nods approval and applauds such a thing is not as far off to us as we think… Something the Bible specifically mentions that Christ opposed on every front.
Look back at the western church and open your eyes to the similarities my friends. Own it. Repent of it. It is not the heart of Jesus. He is what sets us apart. The blood of Jesus. It is finished. Bury it once and for all.
Lay full-bodied across the altar men, and women, of God and weep for mercy at His uncovering of insidious wickedness of people called by His own name.
The world is not the problem. It is merely doing what the lost do.
But we, the body of the slain lamb, and redeemer of all mankind do not what Jesus does, but what the religious did.
May we hear what the Spirit is saying, today, to the churches as we continue to fight matters in His name that miss the entire lesson and heart of Christ Jesus.
