I noticed this word today and it began to linger in my heart. I began to look into this word and see what the Lord might be saying.
verb: plough
1. turn up the earth of (an area of land) with a plow, especially before sowing.
I found this very interesting as I began to read in Jeremiah and came across a gripping scripture to my heart.
For thus says the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
“Plough”, He says…O clear thy snow
Many buried dying and cold
Break up thy soil..thy fallow ground
it is time to till thy mount.
Dormant it has been too long
Seasons now have come and gone
Harvest waits at mountain’s base
Streams have formed and hearts are bathed.
Listen..listen! Thy echo heard
Heaven calls and sends Thy Word!
Scatter seed when soil is loosed
Rain is coming to strengthen roots.

The expression, “Break up your fallow ground” (Hos. 10:12; Jer. 4:3) means, “Do not sow your seed among thorns”, i.e., break off all your evil habits; clear your hearts of weeds, in order that they may be prepared for the seed of righteousness. Land was allowed to lie fallow that it might become more fruitful; but when in this condition, it soon became overgrown with thorns and weeds. The cultivator of the soil was careful to “break up” his fallow ground, i.e., to clear the field of weeds, before sowing seed in it. So says the prophet, “Break off your evil ways, repent of your sins, cease to do evil, and then the good seed of the word will have room to grow and bear fruit.”
Hosea 10:12
Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.
