I am so grateful that the women I get to serve know that I love full disclosure and transparency with them. They hear me say these things alot in our rooms.
This week I feel it heavy in my Spirit to share with a broader audience for the sake of the body of Christ.
This is about leaders and the people written from my own heart to yours so that maybe we can all have a good and Godly perspective that will truly strengthen one another.
I am not a leader that is superhuman with super powers. I am not infallible. I am likely not 💯 accurate at all times. (Shocker🙃) I do not always have it all together.
I am a simple woman following Jesus having to lean deeply into the heart of Christ to discern the times and situations.
To judge, like Deborah, righteously. To become a mother to the motherless. To be long-suffering and gentle. To call us into holiness and righteousness.
And even with my very best of intentions, I will at times still get it wrong. This is also true of your leaders.
Remember them as you read this:
I will still need to rest.
I will still need to put a pause on some things until I get clarity.
I will still make some wrong turns and step in a direction I may soon find out is not quite “right.”
I still need the help of others to shoulder this calling.
I can NOT (and will not) become the voice of God for anyone else. I can merely be a helper of His. You must go get your own oil.
I may not always know the intimate details of every situation in order to “judge” it accurately. But I do try with all of my heart.
Like you, I too am still growing in Christ. (I hope you’re leaders are also)
So, please, remember to extend me the same grace I must often extend to those I tend and mend as they grow and learn and heal and get delivered.
This is in my heart for leaders, today, as I’ve spoken to so many in the last few weeks who are struggling deeply.
For leaders:
Be transparent with your people when you’re at the brink of personal despair. Lose pride. Teach your way through it, don’t hide it. Cry if you need to. Let them see your heart.
Ask the people for prayer. Let them know you need to push the pause button for a bit. Take a sabbatical if you need it. Ask for help when the weight becomes too heavy. Honesty is still the best policy.
It isn’t weak, it’s wise.
It’s also humbling, which your people truly need to see by example.
They need to be reminded of your frailty and need for Christ every minute just like them.
Even when we are empowered by the Holy Ghost, we still have a human tent to care for. Mental health to be aware of. Our own pains to cry out with before the Lord.
This part is for the people:
Pay attention to those shepherding you. There will come a time when they need you and you’ll then learn on the job training how to lay down your own life for the sake of others….even when that “other” is your own leader.
Check in on them.
Encourage them.
Ask them what they need.
Serve them as wholeheartedly as they serve you. This is Godly honor and Jesus loves it♥️
Don’t forget all the moments their hands reached into the deep pits to pull you out. God was using those moments to train you as well so that when the time came you would know how to do it yourself.
Sometimes you’ll have to do it for your own leaders. Moses had Aaron and Hur.
Replace their names with yours for perspective.
Now…your leaders love you….so go now and love them back ♥️
