I was merely at the grocery store when I heard the Lord say…”Loss.” Seems such loss everywhere these days and so many needing comfort and love. Through the valley, the Lord showed me what so many things felt like. Grief, rejection, loneliness. I guess I failed to think about simply what “loss” feels like.
Loss can be so many things. Loss of jobs, loss of a home, loss of loved ones, loss of reputation, divorce, or even just the loss of the past. Loss of time, loss of health, loss of trust, loss of love. Isn’t it strange how the human heart can feel deeply this thing…”loss.” Such a small word with big implications. Where there is loss there is usually a “pulling up by the bootstraps” to avoid what it takes to heal from the effects of “loss.” Change can bring loss. Grief can swallow hope when there is loss. The sorrow of “loss” is at times hidden from our eyes. It can be a silent destroyer if kept hidden. Yet Christ and His love is so drawn to your need that He shall not let it remain hidden forever. That which is kept in darkness and away from His healing light will remain an open wound. There are places in our hearts that we need to allow Christ to ravage. He wants to repair the loss and only He knows exactly how to do that. If we do not allow Him to repair it there will be a hidden hinderance keeping us from complete freedom.
Remember, little things are big things..take not it lightly, or think not it too small, to hold you back from the next realm of Glory in Christ. Lay it on the altar before Him. Let all His light consume it. It could be the very thing holding you back from your victory. It could also keep you from knowing Christ more fully. For in these tender moments He will make Himself known to you in ways He never has before. This is one of His beautiful specialties. He is drawn to need..
Loss
Loss is missing that which was
A person, a place, forgotten love.
An empty place in the deepest heart
Tucked inside a protected slot.
A “little” loss can press great weight
Grief hides not from joy’s sweet face.
Even when it’s secretly kept
The silent wall will strengthen yet.
–
The light of Christ is drawn to deep
Doors and gates with locks and keys.
He knocks so gently to heal thy wound
That loss has quietly consumed.
Loss..Tis such a tiny word
Most unseen, most unheard.
Waiting a time to cause a fall
Even if the fall is soft.
Oh light must break to recesses held
Buried under waves that swelled.
Let Him come and enter in
To where loss can make slaves of men.
Strongholds enslave and loss will climb
Like a creeping, winding vine
Roots will set their feet down deep
So let His light shine down to thee.
Deeper yet is darker still
Open thy heart to Father’s will
Leaving nothing left to tend
So fullness of healing will flow and mend.
