I have found myself over the years ministering often to the little girl in the big girl.
Often, little girl wounds still exist and have not yet been healed.
Abandonment, rejection, neglect, trauma can follow us closely through life and take a front seat to our decision-making and behaviors.
Last night in our prayer meeting, the Lord spoke to the little girls in the room.
He took us back to the days of those severe wounds that caused such pain and began to mend them.
Little girl wounds must be tended:
These wounds undermine confidence, identity, and ultimately a life of freedom.
The problem with these wounds is they tend to have a drawing power all on their own, whereby as adults you’ll find yourself in relationships that also inflict similar pains that little girl once experienced.
Why?
Because our “normal” is skewed.
However, Jesus is fully able to retrain a mind and go back to heal that little girl.
Once He has begun such a work, a big girl begins to thrive and understand her value and worth. Soon, she won’t feel that need to enter into relationships that are more harmful to her very being than helpful.
She learns not to settle for less than what Jesus died for her to have. He teaches her how valuable she is. What love is really supposed to be like. How she really does have a choice in the matter.
He restores her voice.
If there are any little girls out there hiding in big girls, freedom can be yours.
Jesus is ready and willing to walk the healing journey with you.
