Some people have lost the right to speak into your life. It is best that you let God heal you from this now and let them go.
When God severs access, it’s because there was either a problem or someone isn’t assigned to your next season.
Some, however, God exposed in a season who didn’t really have your best interest in mind, only theirs.
If God had not severed it once and for all, your destiny and assignments would be stunted, delayed, and maybe even destroyed.
As you grow in Christ, things must change. Those around you need to take you higher with Jesus rather than stunt your growth. If they can’t see who He is in you then they cannot see where you are to go.
To let voices that God has removed continue to speak into your present, or future, is foolish.
If Paul had listened to the voices of his past, he would never have followed the path of Christ. He would have stayed in ignorance.
We used to say in business that you’re only as strong as your weakest link. In other words, I can only go so far if those around me aren’t in the same vein when it comes to passion and purpose. Because of this, sometimes God will force a change in who’s in your company.
You need those assigned to RUN with you, not those who are lost or satisfied in some past season and happy to stay right there.
This is not to say that things weren’t fine for some of you, but listen, sometimes you simply outgrow your mentors. In these cases, God will send you new ones for the new season. They’ll likely know more than you in certain areas and can “school you” on the nuances of your purpose in the present.
Mentors are critical to every saint, no matter how long we’ve been with the LORD. Yet many have determined they’ve learned it all, so they are where they will always be.
What a shame…
If God is severing, pruning, or even burning up some past pathways, let them go. They no longer apply to your NOW.
I pray today that in Jesus name, every old road would end, and the new road would be revealed. I pray every voice no longer carrying weight in your present season would be dismissed and released. I declare whatever, or whoever, is attempting to “hold you” where you are would now break off your life and that you would run like a racehorse out of that stall.
You will live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord. You will leap into the new season with passion and zeal for Jesus and His heart, and you will graciously, but firmly, decline every voice of the past who continues to try to steer you onto a road that God has said, “No more” to.
New seasons can be hard friends. Yet, necessary. May the weight of the old fall and may the new season prove to be a yoke that has become easier and a burden that is much lighter because grace is undergirding it fully.
