A crown was placed upon His head
One of thorns that dug with dread
Yet we desire a crown with jewels
With sparkling gems…not suffering tools.
If diamonds are clear as clear as glass
Then Holy must be our walk at last
Reflecting only Christ’s called path
A diamond is still cut and sometimes smashed.
Oh yes I’d like an emerald so green
But Christ was killed for envy’s scheme
Upon His crown no jewels like these
Only the green from jealous means.
If topaz is choice of beauty pristine
To walk on gold streets with rivers serene
Highly regarded in royal memories
Surrender Thy life to wear one of these.
Such power does shineth the ruby indeed
Red.. yes it is and cost Him greatly
For poured down His face, His hands, and His feet
The blood ..the blood …His precious ruby.
If we must have pearls of mammoth display
Remember that now He prepares us a place
And many a pearl is now soon displayed
For the Pearl of Great Price wore thorns in your place..
