When following Jesus, you mustn’t be moved by the opinions of others. You can’t fall to expectations or requests, and you certainly can’t do things based on how everyone else does them. It’s you and Jesus in this “thang” together. You mustn’t move based on others’ visions or desires.
I get many emails per week of needs that I take to prayer. I am required to focus on a certain lane. All others are not mine to walk in. If they do not fit within the vision He has entrusted to me, it is another’s work indeed.
When God has entrusted a work to you, it is entirely your responsibility to obey. He can, of course, and does confirm and often affirm with others, but ultimately you must be face down in prayer for Heaven’s direction.
There is no good idea if it is not God’s idea. But when it is His, you will see the craziest of things happen. Things will come your way that you needed and even wanted. Provision will be head-spinning as He provides for you in miraculous ways. You’ll see the supernatural activity of God as He blesses your obedience and faithfulness. There is nothing like it.
It is also quite dangerous to catapult oneself into a work merely because you’ve seen another do it. I’ve certainly made this mistake a time or two, and it might have yielded some fruit, but honestly the anointing lacked every time.
Jesus has a peculiar niche’ for you and me. I don’t need to copycat or counterfeit. What a waste! Too many of us today in the Kingdom are following the footsteps of men rather than the footsteps of God. Let me gently tell you that one day it’s gonna crumble. It was built on some sinking sand there. The human will does not always yield God’s will. If envy or jealousy is the foundation for that which you have built. It’ll be a hard fall but for the grace of God. He simply will not have it.
While heart motives can be beautiful, very often, I’m learning to wait God’s command in these last days. I only have so much time and so much strength. If He has directed it, then He will sustain it…and me. If not, well the ship usually goes down one way or another. Yikes!
Let’s be about the Father’s business uniquely for us, each and long only for what He desires. You are special, and so is the calling on your life. Trust Him for it and when He reveals it, plow that ground faithfully the best you can.
The prayer closet is where assignments are birthed and Heaven’s visions can be seen. He is still active in dreams and daily communication with His sheep. Keep it your first place of priority.
When you seek Him, you’ll find Him.
And when you seek Him, you’ll find you.
