It makes you act in a way unbecoming to the Savior. It will needle you to exclude and withhold encouragement for some while praising others. It is the root of many cliques.
It’s the spirit that winces when you step into a room of people and offers you a pious platform that looks down at others.
Envy.
It keeps your hand from extending grace to some so not to let them get further down the track than you.
Yet in God’s plan each heart holds a unique track needing no “run for your money” attitudes.
Envy.
It’s worn like a beautiful dress and is seen in the subtlest of clues and often one thinks it’s hidden. Some can’t put their finger on it.
But it’s envy.
It’s what causes us to surround ourselves with those like us in cheerleader squads while smirking at those who have a different uniqueness in Christ.
You’ll find it plotting as a conversation is seen “under the breath” and pride is happy to wound another.
Envy.
It callouses the heart to one’s own sin while parading itself around in a full masquerade ball gown.
The pretense is evident in the flattering tongue and loose lips all the while preaching holiness.
Envy.
It’ll make you sell people out who were always for you because it distorts the mind to Satan’s truth rather than the truth of Christ.
A change of personality will overtake you as this spirit ensues and you’ll do and say things you never thought possible.
Envy.
It calls right wrong and wrong right and leaves a blood stain on hearts that have been betrayed by it.
It causes one to lose companions that were gifts from God given as blessings. In a nutshell, envy is a thief.
The one steered by it might find a day when regret sets in but the damage is done by a trail of hearts scattered behind you. It has lasting effects.
Envy.
Crucify it before it crucifies you.
Rom 13:13 – Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy..
