It’s serene, yet a deep darkness
But I swim towards the light
It seems such a long way
“I hope I have enough air in my lungs”
There are few sounds now
Yet life moves all around
But a tunnel sound of sorts
Covers my ears from hearing.
My arms are tiring
I must keep swimming
He urges me on
With gentle whispers.
I pause and look down
The ocean floor is gone now
I might be halfway there
But the distance is still so far.
I close my eyes and focus
I focus on my Jesus
His presence is near
The burden from the journey starts to lift.
“Possess He says..
The time is nearing
You must not quit
The entry is up ahead.”
Now I feel the weight of the water
An ocean of power overtakes me
Then suddenly I can’t go further
When His hands catch me floating below.
He knows my strength is gone
And my fight is no more
So He places me on His shoulders
And He carries me as I rest.
No more struggles… just peace
The ocean has no strength to match it’s Creator
The water yields to Him
And the sea life parts a clear path for His Majesty.
I near the top as the light of the sky appears closer
He whispers “now go” finish the race
These last few strokes are yours
I’ll be here beside you
Whispering My promises.
Suddenly one arm.. then both
Pull me up through the surface of the water
And I emerge…
Sunlight streaming such warmth comes
Dazzling beads shining on the ocean waves
And I hear again His pleasure
“It is time daughter to emerge..” Take the land….the long swim has made you stronger..there is no time to waste..
Many are waiting..
