Sin upon sin like links of chain
One begets another without refrain.
Soon it is lengths beyond thine eyes
Yet Father in Heaven sees far and wide.
To break it’s grip upon thy life
You will need a repentant cry.
For “sorry” is not a surface thing
It must resound from deep heart stings.
If thou shan’t hasten to plead with Christ
Chains become a clanging cry.
Bondage will keep thy freedom life
Buried under the weight of strife.
Look down close upon thy wrists
Check thy feet and neck that’s gripped.
Christ has come to loose these chains
Should you repent in Jesus name.
