Captivity often looks normal if it’s all you’ve ever known. It’s not always evident until you’re freed from that bondage. You’ll also likely not see when the enemy is at work if you’re unwise to the devil’s schemes.
Captivity finds its way in through religion, through mindsets and theologies, through witchcraft, and through virtually any kind of deception.
The root source of all of these, however, is the same and comes from within the realm of principalities and wicked things in high places. It is Satan’s domain.
Captivity can even look good and godly while being absolutely wicked and anti-Christ. It’ll look like salvation by good works, dogmatic adherence to scriptures that are taken out of context, a false grace that leads people to Hell, as well as spiritual manipulation and control under the guise of “keeping the flock safe.”
Other forms are the passive controlling of people where you are not allowed to “think for yourself, or other covert abuses.
Manipulation and mind games are one of Satan’s best playgrounds because it creates confusion. Everything is shifting sand. These can also lead to captivity.
Captivity covers us with an unseen mirage of what we think is happening while the devil is having a very real heyday in the “keeping” of us.
I had a vision last night while in prayer of a fishing pole that had just cast a line into the water. It was merely bait to pull one into a captivity of sorts. Soon there would be something captured and escape would be very difficult. The hook had done its job.
You might be shown by God that you have hooks in your heart that have been placed by the devil.
Regardless of how the hook came, the intent is the same.
Captivity.
May Jesus loose every hook sent to harm you. May Jesus remove every hidden veil meant to blind you of the enemy’s handiwork. May the blood of Jesus present a ring of fire about you for protection that will also surely offer a peace that passes all understanding.
To Christ alone be glory given and may every place you have been silently, or cunningly, taken captive now be exposed in Jesus name.
