This morning I’m thinking of the hearts we know who are struggling in this holiday season. While the world goes around, your world has been shattered.
God is with you.
I am thankful that in times of suffering we have a Savior who knows every pain and sorrow.
Some of you have lost marriages, lost loved ones, lost jobs, and have had to fight for the joy of your salvation.
Jesus understands.
There is a miraculous promise of God being near to the broken-hearted. One does not quite understand the powerful truth of this scripture unto you have become the broken-hearted.
He is so near that if you listen, you might hear His heartbeat within your own body. You might feel His hand brush your hair back to catch your tears. You may even smell His sweet scent as He comes close to listen to your heart cries.
Jesus cares. You are not forgotten.
That little scripture is one of my greatest gratitude pieces from His word. It has kept me alive more times than I can count.
Please do not feel you have to hide your pain during the holidays. Find a safe place to talk it out and unburden your heart. Christ has prepared people who will listen well and hug you towards healing.
You are loved.
I am thankful that I have risen from many ashes to tell you that He is a redeemer and that any pained roads you are currently traveling eventually shine some rainbow you had no idea awaited you.
Today I send to you the promise of flowers blooming after a hard rain. The kind that causes the roots to become stronger and the blooms more abundant.
You may not see it just yet, dear one, but it’s coming…
Keep breathing. Keep praying. Keep hanging on.
Jesus is praying you through.
May this Thanksgiving bring you the peace that passes all understanding while you wait for your joy to return.
