The Wolves

The Wolves

The Wolves

I looked around to seek shelter

From a storm that rolled quickly in

To my surprise I was alone

And could not find a friend.

For when the heat had gotten hot

Scattered did godly men

Perhaps it’s true even today

For Christ it was true back then.

Be careful who does lead you on

The enemy, he is wise

And he will cut your very throat

Without discerning eyes.

Do not cooperate with him

One day you may soon find

That what you chose to align with

Was the devil in disguise.

He is a thief and comes to steal

He will divide the fold

And where he finds a prideful man

He soon has him a hold.

He is a trickster of switch and bait

Ready to deceive

And if you are not careful, dear

The wolves will steal your sheep.

Ezekiel 22:27 –

Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
