The River

THE RIVER “its a rising”

Do you hear the water swell?

And where the river runs

Life will soon live there.

It washes well the heart of man

It flourishes the vines.

The fruit will grow abundantly

With nourishment so kind.

But, do you see the journey well

The waters you must go through?

At first it shall be ankle deep

These trials will not consume.

But, hence again, the waters rise

Your knees will then be wet.

For Christ is gaining access to

The heart in greater depths.

You shall not go around the crest

Each time He’ll take you THROUGH.

Until the river rises high

He then must carry you.

You’ll notice in your greatest trials

The trees are growing yet

The water has quenched them of a thirst

An “inner need” He’s met.

THE RIVER is “source” to many trees

Who reside along the bank

But if you’ll pay attention close

The VALLEY is the route He takes.

It shall be near your deepest trial

The river now consumes

But in His Majesty’s design

Comes a great, now, multitude.

There’s now a SEA of healing drops

And countless, many fish

“Exceeding many that your love

Will tend, for they are sick.

You’ll spread your nets and drag the lame

You’ll feed them food and drink

THE RIVER, now, it lives in you

Flowing from His sanctuary.
