Your Ship’s Captain

Your Ship’s Captain

Your Ship’s Captain

There is a moment in our walk with Jesus whereby all helplessness will be felt.

You’ll want to navigate it, dictate it, and control it.

But Christ will cause us to surrender even “that” for His will and ways. After all, we are following Him.

His Spirit will not be bound to man’s understanding.

So just let go and let God.
Loosen your grip.
Release every ounce of grappling for answers and a way out.

We will all be led to a very personal Gethsemane.

This is going to be your hardest work ever with Him but it will also prove to be your safest place of refuge.

Rest in the river of life.
Picture yourself floating effortlessly on your back.
A drowning victim must never wrestle with the water.
Let peace and calm wash over you.
Remember who is in charge, still.

There is no striving or figuring it out.
There is only a quiet knowing that the one who loves you the most is now carrying you through.

In this place all of Hell shudders because they know you have reached one of the most intimate places with Christ.

And in this place will be found mysteries of Him that you’ve never known possible.

There is a lovely sound to surrender.

It’s ok to lean in. To let Him have all the fear and all the control and, finally, just take your hands off the wheel.

You may feel that you’re losing all control in your trial, and in all honesty, you are.

But, to lose is to gain.

For Christ, alone, must be your ship’s Captain.

Hebrews 2:10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
