The Real Miracle

The Real Miracle

The Real Miracle

One of my greatest fears I have to always keep before the Lord is that the painful seasons that come as you walk with Christ could eventually harden my own heart.

If we’re honest, there are times where the bruises seem more than you can bear. The betrayals go deeper than you could ever have imagined. The hurt can make us skeptical and unwilling to love again.

I can tell you it is a miracle of God to keep a tender heart when this life is full of such cruelty.

You will have many opportunities to get wounded even by the brethren. Those who silently withhold the celebration of The Christ in you and at times even the hearts who once sat, and ate, at your own table.

Again, if we’re honest, and that seems to be a humbling act in itself, we must constantly bring to the altar every conversation, every act of usury, and every harmful word spoken to cheapen that which the King spilled His blood for you to accomplish.

Because if we don’t, we might become hard, less compassionate, willing to lay it all down for a kind of self-preservation.

But this cannot be the life we live in Christ. We must stay in the fullness of His love so that we might keep pouring it out to others in need.

We must let Him cover our eyes with His salve that we might keep on seeing.

Seeing with purity, seeing with kindness, and seeing the way He sees.

Disappointment can find a home pretty quickly when the dominoes start to fall and dark veils are removed.

But listen, you will see the goodness of God in the land of the living. So don’t let the enemy steal what God has cultivated in your sweet heart.

There have been times that my mercy heart walked me into situations that later seemed to devour me. I had to learn holy boundaries, see clearly my own land, and then let God heal any wounds that came from any given season.

I’ve seen God do many miracles by now, but you know what? By far, one of the greatest miracles ever is when I walk out of a fiery furnace and can still love well. Still keep a compassionate heart. Still be moved by the Lord who is kind. Still see the good all around me even when darkness has tried to swallow me up.

Yeah. That’s a real miracle alright.

And, honestly, you won’t be able to do it on your own because you’ll naturally want to fight for yourself, hurl spears, and at times withdraw from the fight.

But, friend, this is never an option for the ambassador of Christ.

Holy Spirit is there to help you walk it out so that you will remain tender in heart.

Whatever you’re facing today, learn to get honest before the Lord.

And whatever comes your way, let Him give you the very real miracle of keeping a kind, and tender heart.
