The Road to Calling

The Road to Calling

The Road to Calling

I’ve thought a lot lately of the times I “bent” to please others in my life. How I would walk into rooms and start to dumb myself down, stand down from my calling so not to appear prideful, and all I did was exactly what the enemy wanted.

Shrinking was something I became used to doing. Speaking up brought unwanted pain and at some point I began to believe everyone was somehow wiser so I should just listen and not speak.

But even in that planned demise of the enemy I listened and learned along the way.

He took me into places to “see” the holes in the wall. The bowing down to idols and the worship of man.

He sat me with those who knew this war well and they began to do what others would not. They called me to rise.

To rise merely for the glory of God. To be strong and courageous and to walk worthy of the calling entrusted to me.

But it looked quite different from the false humility I was taught where silence was encouraged and meekness was redefined as some kind of weakness that only applied to women.

Oh, but God came and began to reteach me His Word. The finger of God began to take me into the stories of scripture and utterly wreck all of my theology.

The cover-ups were exposed one by one.
And there it was, FREEDOM in CHRIST.

Unusual things began to happen🕊️

I’ll never forget the night I had a dream where I entered a store and a man stood behind the counter. As I approached him, his finger came across that counter and pointed at me saying firmly, “Go fill in the blanks of the Samaritan woman.”

Likewise, Proverbs 31 He ripped apart as He took me line by line into the original language and showed me the Husbandman and the Bride within every sentence. My mind was blown at how watered down we had made His book. It had become all about us when it was always all about Him.

And Jesus wants His Word back.

Back from the twisting lies of the devil.
Back from the hands of man trying to control and oppress mankind.
Back from denominations who’ve used it to serve themselves.

And this is the season of His divine reckoning against that which distorts who He is.

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
He is THE WORD that became flesh.
He is Alpha and Omega.

While He is slow to anger He is also watching His Word to be sure it does perform. He is forever the just Judge who reigns.

My first message outside of music was utterly accidental but God sent me to deliver a message of Matthew 7:13

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I had no idea that the meeting was a pastor’s gathering. For the life of me I could not believe back then that God sent a little, 5 foot woman to deliver that message to a room full, mostly, of schooled, male pastors.

I am still today grateful for the one dear brother, and pastor, who I could see in the back jumping up and down hardly able to contain himself, “Amen!!!“ lifting his hands like my personal cheerleader.

The Truth will flow from the vessel of His choice. If you do not begin to believe that you will miss many a God assignment because you won’t think it is a job for you.

I rose in ways that brought conflict. Not because I meant to but because Jesus did. The sword comes to divide and Jesus will bring Himself, through you, into a room to utterly expose darkness and confront all manner of religion.

I learned it wasn’t me offending people, it was Christ offending people.

I learned not to get off my post to make others feel better but to encourage them in their own divine assignments.

I learned that getting out of my assigned seat helped no one but the devil
Himself and one day God said, “ENOUGH.”

He challenged me and I felt the weight of the crossroads I was standing in. I had to decide, “Satisfy them or obey Him.”

Another day the Lord came after me again. “Stop apologizing for who I designed you to be…Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you …Jeremiah 1:5

It’s not a scripture you just quote, it’s one that you begin to live out daily as He unfolds who He is and who He has called you to be.

I’m here today for some of you whereby God sees your shrinking back. The false humility that you think is pleasing to Him. He is not fooled because you were made with His hands. You are His masterpiece.

You can hide in the cave but He will come for you like He did Elijah, “What are you doing here?”

That dear, gentle Shepherd who leads us will also reprove us. Moses gave excuses. God in His kindness even provided for those. But He was not budging that Moses, indeed, was the man for the job.

Who have you been called to be for the glory of God?

You did not choose Him.
He chose you.

You can listen to all the loud voices or you can follow the LORD.

At the end of this age only one of those voices will matter.
