Practical Positioning

Practical Positioning

Practical Positioning

Within the annuls of time are great leaders who knew how to navigate the spiritual things of God while also implementing practically what was necessary.

Every forerunner, pioneer, and trailblazer were students of a higher learning willing to grow in many facets to plow well the ground for their generation and the generations to come. They had to lead by example.

Over the last few days I’ve had a constant thought in my heart for those God is raising up to lead others forward in the Kingdom of God.

“Prepare for the practical.”

I’ve been stirred as of late to teach my people to remember that “practical is still spiritual.”

When God is preparing you to expand your tent pegs you may likely be catapulted into a necessity to learn new things. This could mean a new way of navigating ministry or even new skills.

When God called me to start a print newspaper, self-publish books, or start a radio station I had to be willing to “GROW, to GO.”

I had to not only grow spiritually but I had to be willing to grow practically.

Many diminish the necessity of “practical positioning.”

Often you’ll become a student once again feeling ill-equipped as God promotes you to the “more” He has for your life. Leaders are not exempt from this. We are all in a never-ending learning process in the Kingdom.

Each time I was commanded to “take the land” I found myself in a new school of learning.

There is nothing worse for us than being unwilling to learn a new thing.

We cannot embrace the scripture “Behold I am doing a new thing…” and be, yet, unwilling to expand the tools in our tool-belts when necessary.

Sometimes practical learning is what pushes us into that very “new thing” where the spiritual matters will thrive and the Spirit of God is getting what He aimed for through your life and ministry.

We currently have women learning how to produce Kingdom radio shows, self-publish Kingdom books, and learn software and skill-sets that are brand new to them. However, it is expanding their ability to effectively multiply the Kingdom.

This is essential for their growth and fruitfulness.

We often get frustrated with churches who refuse to move into new works, but we can also be guilty of the same if we hang too tightly to the “You can’t teach old dogs new tricks” mindset.

Thus, practical is spiritual and we need a mindset shift to become a student once again towards the higher Kingdom learning.

It’s deep in my heart this week to position ourselves not only spiritually but also practically.

Learn the new skill, take the new class, get the additional training, so that you can advance in a new, and fresh, work with God.

Nehemiah needed many skilled people to accomplish the rebuilding of the wall…

His work was indeed a spiritual one, but also required the implementation of all things practical.

He knew the importance of both.

So should we.
