Let It
The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is precious to me. For without it, where might we be, friends?
Lost and eternally headed to a home in Hell…for all of eternity.
I was texting a sweet friend yesterday and something rolled off my fingers that I felt like was the Lord unexpectedly speaking:
“This is a cross that kills you…”
It will kill your religion.
It will kill your pride.
It will kill your plans.
It will kill your focus of self.
It will kill your flesh.
And that is the point…
Jesus conquered the grave indeed. Death couldn’t hold Him. It has lost its sting. In Christ is a moment when the eyes close to the world and open to the presence of God. It’s a divine door. We now follow Him through death into life. Spiritually and naturally.
But while on earth is unraveling all that has not been planted by the Father within us.
Resurrection can be had here. Now.
Freedom from behaviors and bad habits.
Freedom from sin and shame.
Freedom from insecurity and worthlessness.
Freedom from torment.
Freedom…in Christ.
Some of us need a good resurrection right now.
Freedom is afforded us by the shed blood of Jesus with a promised enduement of power that is nothing short of supernatural, should you desire it. Please don’t stop short on this, I did for years. There is more.
The more you and I die, the more we live in Christ.
The crucifixion does not mean suffering doesn’t come to us. Trials are eminent. Struggles are real. Pain presents itself, often.
It does mean, however, that we were cleansed of our sin and the sin debt was paid in full. Christ paid with His dear life.
The life abundant lived out in Jesus will come with a cross that you must pick up should you choose to actually follow Him. You can’t steer a parked car.
Worthless debates will go away as you die. Arguing points with no spiritual value will cease. Law filled lacings that are nothing but bondage in nature will end by the Spirit of the living God.
Wherever you are with Jesus be certain of this:
He rose again…and He is fully alive.
He is the way, the truth, and the life…the only way to the Father.
And as true as that is-so is this…
This life in Christ comes with a cross that will also kill you…
My advice to you is this:
Let it…
